an (unabridged) list of reasons to enjoy
+ if i so desire, i can do any or all of the following when at home: wear a blue sweatshirt/blue sweatpants set to bed, decorate and redecorate the same stupid 3 foot x 4 foot area of my apartment until rightly satisfied, watch television shows of secret obsession such as project runway and (the shame) dateline: real mystery
+ forgeting that the cell phone exists for hours at a time. finding it hidden under a pillow and checking for missed calls feels as anxiety-free as a quick glance at the microwave clock when i have a completely open schedule
+ eating more thai food than i should while sitting on the couch
+going to bed at 7 pm or 4 am or 11 pm or midnight
+ reading, truly reading, and perhaps even welling up with tears when encountering particularly beautiful writing
+lighting incense, cooking and drinking wine, patty griffin playing while i glide around the sizzling kitchen. bliss. (and, i think, universally not understood by men).
+ drawing with an ink pen while sitting on the ground over a giant pad of paper. some of the drawings are bad (some oh so bad) and must just simply be disposed of and never seen again. only I will know.
+ thinking about men and feeling that they are good and nice to have around every once and awhile, but the thought of one actually penetrating the sweet mystery of my self-development at this point is, well, soooo not happening.
+discovering exactly what sort of things i most love (without the influence of another creature) in the following categories: dogs, movies, books, music, careers, friends, sounds, smells, websites, passions, toothpastes, home electronics, grocery stores, coffee preferences, water temperature, shoes, bras, workouts, sports, lamps, fruit, fonts and walking speed.
i just discovered this. oh so glad i did.
